Other suggested Courses to Play
ABU DHABI CITY GOLF CLUB
Tee off with Abu Dhabi’s soaring skyline as a backdrop, or lengthen your day by booking a twilight round under the city’s night sky: the UAE capital’s first nine-hole facility, also known as ‘The People’s Golf Course’, offers golfers a playing environment unlike any other in the emirate.
Open to members and visitors, Abu Dhabi City Golf Club – which has the only two-tiered driving range in Abu Dhabi – sits conveniently in the heart of the city and is an ideal venue to escape the hustle and bustle, or cap off a day of business meetings or sightseeing. Crucially for business travelers, overhead lights cater for tee-times until 9pm.
There’s a notoriously difficult test through Holes 7-9. Dubbed ‘Amen Corner’ by locals, the Par 3, Par 5 and Par 4 trio is arguably Abu Dhabi’s closest match to the harrowing Holes 11-13 stretch at Augusta National Golf Club.
Elsewhere, newly relaid greens and a brand new fleet of GPS-equipped golf carts add to a compelling urban golf experience.
SAADIYAT BEACH GOLF CLUB
Saadiyat Beach Golf Club is the region’s first ocean course; the Gary Player-designed masterpiece respectfully harnesses the natural beauty of Saadiyat Island’s magnificent, white sand beaches for a truly unique playing experience.
With the meandering, eco-conscious course providing stunning sea views, there’s also the chance to spot dolphins at play in the glistening Arabian Gulf. Three salt water lakes and restored beach and sand dunes provide majestic on-course hazards, while more than 60 bunkers force even the bravest to pause for thought on this challenging Par 72.
Designed with amateurs and professionals in mind, carefully positioned tee boxes ensure the total yardage starts at 5,290, although the course can be extended to a whopping 7,784 yards for pros.
The clubhouse is known as a dining treat and has a great terrace for prize-giving ceremonies or outdoor socializing.
